Cut — optional

$5.00 is added to your cart as its own line — “Boxy Crop · Cut Service”.
Cut with a fabric cutter before it ships. The edge is left raw, and it curls a little after the first wash — that's the look. Adds a day to dispatch, and it's final sale, since a cropped shirt can't go back into stock.

For the question we always have in mind: to tube or not to tube?

These are the softest hoodies I've made to date. Nice, thick, and warm. Perfect for those cold night shifts.

Hand-drawn with our artist from my own sketch. No AI. The back print is the full To Tube or Not to Tube design, with our hand-drawn Scrubs & Steel logo on the chest.

Dark humor, because that's how we talk at work. For the RNs, RTs, and all providers. If you're in healthcare, this is for you.

Every hoodie is made to order after the preorder closes. It's a small run. When it's gone, it's gone.

Why It Holds Up

Made by a nurse.
Not cutesy. Not flimsy.

Gene Dinh, ICU nurse and founder of Scrubs and Steel, in the black tee

Pressed by a nurse, not a factory

No middleman. Every shirt goes through the press one at a time in California, by an ICU nurse between shifts. That's me.

Back print in cream ink on a black tee, shown from behind

DTF, not DTG

The ink keeps fine detail on black and survives the washing a working wardrobe actually gets. It flexes with the fabric instead of sitting on top and cracking.

6.1 oz cotton, boxy fit

Comfort Colors 1717, heavyweight ring-spun cotton. Roomy, a little boxy, softer every wash. Fine on shift, fine off it.

Questions we get a lot

What size should I get?

True to size with a relaxed, roomy cut. I'm 5'9", 205 lb and wear XL for a regular fit, or L for a closer fit through the arms. Size up one for a fully oversized look. Most women size down one for relaxed, or two for fitted.

What blank do you print on?

Comfort Colors 1717 in black — 6.1 oz heavyweight 100% ring-spun cotton, side-seamed, with a curved hem. DTF printed. It runs roomier than a Gildan or Bella+Canvas at the same size label.

How fast does it ship?

1–2 business days from California, unless the product page says it's a preorder. Shipping is free on orders over $60, otherwise a flat $6.99.

How do I wash it?

Cold wash inside out, tumble dry low, and don't iron directly over the print. Do that and it stays sharp and flexible for the life of the shirt.

Who actually makes these?

One ICU nurse. Designed, pressed, packed, and shipped between shifts. Not print-on-demand, not drop-shipped, no warehouse.

Can I return or exchange it?

Yes. Reach out and we'll sort out a size swap or a return — the full terms are on the refund policy page.
